Troy announces plans for $24 million football building
TROY, Ala. (AP) – Troy will start building a football facility behind the north end zone right after this season.
Athletic director Jeremy McClain announced plans for the $24 million, 70,000-square-foot facility Thursday. Troy will also build a 35-by-90-foot video board and 402 new club seats.
The four-story building will hold offices for the football staff, a new locker room, training room and a team lounge. It will also include a nutritional station and a mud room with a plunge pool.
It’s expected to be completed in the spring of 2018. Troy opens the 2018 season against Boise State.
The school opened the $40 million Trojan Arena before the 2012-13 season.
The Trojans are off to their best start as an FBS program, at 7-1 and getting Top 25 votes for the first time.
