Prepping for Small Business Saturday in Troy

After you’re done with turkey and your Black Friday shopping, don’t forget about your local businesses.

Business owners in Troy are busy prepping for Small Business Saturday, a day encouraging people to shop local. Troy business owners say they always look forward to this time of the year, welcoming new customers. That’s why they are spending this seeking handing out promotional items encouraging people to return Saturday.

“For every $100 spent at a local business, on average 73 of it stays in the community. This is our livelihood. This is how we pay for dance lessons and put food on the table and make a living,” says Chelsea Hasting, Owner of  E + Me Children’s Boutique.

According to the National Retail Federation, more than 136 million Americans plan to shop Thanksgiving weekend.
