Seatbelt Bill Named After Basketball Star Passes Senate

Montgomery Senator Quinton Ross has introduced a bill requiring back seat passengers to wear a seatbelt.

It’s called the Roderic Scott Seat Belt safety act – it’s named after the Lee High School student and basketball star who was killed in a wreck on I-65 last year. He was a passenger in the backseat and was ejected from the car. Scott had signed a letter of intent o play basketball at Jacksonville State University.
