Event Description

Montgomery Ballet announces its annual Fairytale and Summer Camps

Fairytale Ballet Camp is a delightful time that provides young dancers a summer experience in classical ballet. Using famous fairytale ballets such as Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty for creative inspiration, the camp includes daily ballet classes with emphasis on musicality, movement, and shapes. Dancers also engage in games, arts, and crafts that enrich their ballet experience. All activities are taught by professional dancers which comprise the faculty of Montgomery Ballet.
Montgomery Ballet’s Fairytale Ballet Camp runs from June 9 -27, 2014, and it is for all children between the ages of 3 and 6 years old. Students are encouraged to attend the entire three-week camp. However, one week and two-week sessions are also available. There will be a special presentation for the family during the final week in which dances will demonstrate their new skills while re-enacting a famous fairytale ballet. Snacks will be served daily and early drop off/late pick up options are available.
Montgomery Ballet’s Summer Camp runs from Jun 9-27, 2014, and it is for children and young people aged 7 and up. The Montgomery Ballet’s Summer Camp focuses on the art of classical ballet, and also offers a wide variety of classes in other dance forms; including Pointe, Pre-Pointe, Men’s class, Variations, Repertory, Modern, and Jazz. Our unique summer camp is designed for young dancers of all ages and levels, who desire the best training available and who are up for the challenge of refining their technique whilst making new friends and having some creative fun. Our distinguished faculty place students in the appropriate class level on the first day. A school is the foundation of a company and investing in youth, their talent, and potential should be the aim of any educational organization. Precision and achievement cannot be gained quickly, but need to be nurtured, directed, and motivated. The teachers work with each dancer individually, focusing on their own technical progress and helping them to understand their bodies, to appreciate their craft, and to become the best dancer that they can be.
Students are encouraged to attend the entire three-week camp. However, one week and two-week sessions are also available. In addition, a student can come for a single class or classes.
All participants in the 2013 Summer Camp will have the opportunity to perform at the end of camp- in house- studio showcase on Friday June 27th at 6pm, also featuring the professional dancers of the Montgomery Ballet Company. demonstrate their new skills while re-enacting a famous fairytale ballet. Snacks will be served daily and early drop off/late pick up options are available.
