Benefits of Educational Video Games

By Alabama News Network

Kids who play educational video games may retain important lessons while they have fun.

Researchers in New York City observed a group of 9 and 10-year-olds playing an instructional video game called "Stroke Hero" about how to respond if someone is having a stroke.

Afterwards, more than a third of the children were able to identify the signs of stroke and said they’d call 911 if they saw someone having symptoms.

The children also remembered what to do when they were tested seven weeks later.
