Hormone Replacement Therapy Can Help after Joint Replacement Surgery

Women who undergo knee and hip replacement surgery and then take hormone replacement therapy seem to cut their risk of repeat surgery by 40 percent. 

A number of knee and hip replacement operations need to be repeated within three years.

Experts think hormone replacement therapy helps strengthen the bone surrounding the implant.
