Study: Drug Trials Vary Widely

Not all FDA trials for new drugs are the same.  

A new study published in JAMA shows a wide variation in the evidence used when federal health officials approve new medications. 

Researchers found that experimental trials vary in size, design and duration. 

They say the flexible approach can be beneficial, allowing fast approval of life-saving drugs.
