Construction Starting On Greenville Wintzell's

By Amanda Wade

The wait could soon be over for Wintzell's Seafood in Greenville.

Mayor Dexter McLendon says the construction company is moving equipment in Thursday to begin building.
He says the city had to build an access road to the property where the restaurant will stand before construction on the building could begin. McLendon says the project has been in the works for nearly four years, but he is hopeful the doors could be opened by Thanksgiving, "They'll be starting the moving some dirt, getting ready to pour some slabs. It's been a long time coming. My goodness, I'm glad it's started! You know, it all had to sort of fit around a lot of other things."
The new access road will also change traffic patterns and move a red light. McLendon says it will be easier to get on and off the interstate when the traffic patterns change on August 11th.
