Fire Destroys Montgomery Warehouse Building
From Montgomery -- a storage facility for a local business is left in ruins after a fire destroys the building. Investigators are searching for answers as to what started the fire that caused smoke to be seen for miles.
The scene is now full of rubble -- pieces of equipment spread everywhere after a fire took over half of this warehouse building. And fire officials are calling it a total loss.
It was a black cloud that could be seen not just from Cabiness' workplace, but also across Montgomery. This is the view we saw from our Alabama News Network skycam about five miles away.
They say it started on the left side of the building. As for how it started, fire officials say it's still a mystery.
While noone was hurt in the fire, Juan Bell says it was too close for comfort -- he and the moving business he works with were moving items out of the building just next door.
We spoke to the business owner who stored their equipment in the building -- while he chose not to be on camera, he tells us he plans to rebuild the damaged part of the warehouse. Fire officials say it's too early to know whether foul play was involved.
The warehouse belonged to a molded fiber manufacturing business called MP3 Fiber. Alabama news network will keep you updated on the fire investigation.
