Governor Bentley Speaks Out on Medicare and the Affordable Care Act

By Alabama News Network

Governor Bentley has spoken out on health care and he says he is more concerned with Medicare than Medicaid.

The governor says he is worried about some hospitals, but he believes most will be able to survive without being compensated for care costs.
Bentley also called the Affordable Care Act bad legislation. He expects many Alabamians to be upset with their insurance coverage.
"When they really start to look at how much taxes they'll have to pay and fact that they are going to be losing their insurance and when they were told they could keep their insurance, they are going to be losing their doctors because some doctors will not be on the plans that they have," said Bentley. "So people are going to be very upset."
Governer Bentley says the state is working to expand federally assisted health care systems in the state that will help those who can not afford other care.
