Greenville Heads Back To The 70's In Putting On The Ritz

Performers in Greenville are ready to take the community on a trip back in time.

Thursday is opening night for Greenville's 8th annual Putting on the Ritz show. Organizers say this year's theme is a magical journey through the 70's.

The 35 cast members are all local volunteers ranging from 15 to 75 years old. The director, Nancy Idland, says she is expected more than 1,200 people to see the show between Thursday and Saturday night, "Act one will take you on a walk through the early protest songs of the 70's into the ever popular YMCA that we all know, and act two will bring us right on into disco."

Putting on the Ritz raises money to bring professional shows to Greenville throughout the rest of the year.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students. Performances are April 24th, 25th, and 26th at 7:30pm.
