New and Improved Middle School Ready For Troy Students

By Sarah Cantey

Even with the end of summer, middle schoolers in Troy have a new school to look forward to.

Construction took a year but the keys of the newly improved Charles Henderson Middle School have been turned over to the school system.
Three of the old buildings remain, but they were completely redone.
Included in the $7.5 million project was a new cafeteria, updated basketball court and large classrooms, just to name a few.
Students spent last year sharing the high school.
Principal Charles Henderson Middle School Aaron Brown III said, "It's a super morale booster. When you look at what it adds to the morale of our teachers our students our parents, just the community as a whole. When you look at a brand new building. It's almost like getting a new car."
On top of all the changes to the actual school, a new access road was added. That's something parents can look forward to, because school leaders say it should cut down on traffic.
