Wilcox Co. Residents Blame County Commission for Water Woes

From the West Alabama Newsroom--   Water outages and other issues are starting to spring up in Wilcox County -- and it has residents upset.

Some residents were without water at their homes for most of the weekend -- and their blaming the county commission for the problems.

The commission fired the former water management company, Clearwater Solutions -- and took over the management of the county water system July 1st.

Frances Young of Gees Bend was one of the residents affected by the outage.
"Its hot and we need water. Need water to cook, wash, whatever and drink," she said.

Rennie Miller says the county commission is responsible for the water problems.

"I blame them for firing people and not having a replacement in position to take over something as important as water," said Miller.
