From the West Alabama Newsroom--   Downtown Selma is getting back to normal -- after about a week of Hollywood movie crews filming scenes for the movie 'Selma' in the city.

Residents say its been an experience having a major motion picture filming in the city -- but not everyone was happy about it.

Business owner Dianne Smitherman says she's upset because she got no notice that Water Avenue where her business is located -- would be closed to traffic during filming.

"We knew of course the bridge was going to close. We did not know the street would be totally shut down," said Smitherman.

Several businesses had to close up shop during the filming of the movie. They're being compensated by movie officials for their losses.
