NEWS ASSIGNMENT MANAGER
Alabama News Network / WAKA/CBS-8 TV and WNCF/ABC Montgomery in Montgomery, Alabama is looking for a full time Assignment Manager. The qualified candidate will be responsible for all facets of the news assignment desk. As an Assignment Manager, the candidate must possess capable leadership skills within the entire news department. Duties include news staff scheduling, making beat-checks, monitoring scanner traffic, answering phones, getting information and developing stories. The candidate should be detail-oriented and well organized and also able to handle multiple tasks. Good news judgment and strong communication skills are a must. As a News Manager, candidate should be able to supervise at various times.

The successful candidate should possess excellent videography, lighting and non-linear editing skills. Experience with HD Camera Operation and operating ENG equipment is a plus. This position also calls for previous experience operating microwave live trucks. The ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. equipment on a daily basis is required. GENERAL ASSIGNMENT REPORTER

MASTER CONTROL OPERATOR
Alabama News Network is accepting applications for Master Control Operator position for the local CBS affiliate WAKA-TV and the local ABC affiliate WNCF-TV in Montgomery, AL This is a precision position which requires attention to details and the ability to make last-minute decisions. There is some pressure involved with the duties. This position requires some prior experience in master control at an active local news operation and a proven aptitude for technical duties. Candidate must exhibit proficiency in on-air switching, monitoring and altering automation operation, recording of satellite and program feeds, program and commercial dubbing, and coordination of satellite, microwave and fiber remote feeds. Schedule flexibility is required subject to the operational needs of the WAKA-TV Hub, which operates 24/7. In addition to WAKA-TV, the hub includes master control for WNCF, WBMM, MeTV, Heartland Network, and a Weather Radar channel.

Secondary Duties Include, but are not limited to production which may include the following: Newscast Audio mixing, Stage management, Teleprompter, setup of technical equipment as needed. Additionally, other assigned duties as deemed necessary by management to meet the operational needs of the WAKA-TV hub.

Position may require a rotating schedule if needed to meet our operational needs. A technical education background is an added plus. CHIEF METEOROLOGIST
Alabama News Network is accepting applications for Chief Meteorologist for the local CBS affiliate, WAKA-TV and the local ABC affiliate WNCF-TV in Montgomery, AL. This is a key on-air position that requires excellent communication skills, a high work ethic and the ability to manage our four-person weather team as well as our state-of-the-art computer graphics systems. We're seeking an aggressive, creative thinker with extensive severe weather experience who will take the lead on the air, through digital media and with our radio partners. We have tornadoes, hurricanes, floods and sometimes snow, and will break in with wall-to-wall coverage as needed. We're looking for someone who will also get involved in our community. Applicants should have a meteorology degree or educational certification. An AMS or NWA seal is a strong plus, as is 3-5 years experience at a commercial TV station.
