The Christian Coalition of Alabama plans to push a bill in the upcoming legislative session that would ban the sale of alcohol in gambling businesses, including Indian casinos.
Coalition Chairman Randy Brinson says the bill should cut down on gambling in Alabama and help prevent social problems. Brinson announced the coalition's agenda Thursday for the legislative session starting Jan. 14.
The agenda includes a bill to prohibit an abortion if a test shows the fetus can feel pain. The agenda also calls for removing the Common Core education standards from Alabama's school standards and replacing them with standards proven to increase academic knowledge.
Brinson says the coalition will also support legislation to protect politicians from unsolicited campaign contributions given by people or groups to create controversy for the candidate.
