Circuit clerks offices across Alabama are now open again to the public on Wednesdays.
In Elmore county, the circuit clerk's office had been closed on Wednesdays for a year.
That was so workers could get caught up on a backlog of cases due to a smaller staff.
Chief justice Roy Moore says the backlog has eased, and the offices can be open to the public 5 days a week.
Moore says he will continue to ask the legislature for additional funding to hire more employees.
