Auburn Fans Get Ready For The National Championship

By Alabama News Network

After a win over Missouri, Auburn Tiger fans are ready to cheer their team on to a national championship, but are they ready to pay the price?

It was a little rainy on Toomer's Corner in Auburn on Sunday, but that wasn't stopping fans from celebrating an SEC Championship win, and getting ready to hit the road to Pasadena.
Fans in Toomer's Corner say being an Auburn fan with National Championship hopes on the line is an undescribable feeling, and some say they are willing to pay hundreds for tickets, hopeful for a Tiger win.
"$500 a piece (laughs), I don't know we'll see. That's debatable," says Jim Owen, a lifelong Auburn fan.
But right now, $500 won't cut it. On websites like Stubhub and Ticketmaster, the current price of a single ticket to the BCS Bowl ranges between nearly $900 to over $3,600. Although prices are sky high, that isn't stopping fans from celebrating. Some even say they didn't expect to see another run at a national championship during their lifetime.
"Well, when they won in 2010, I did the math and I'd have to live to be 112 [years old] to see them do it again. And I'm not 112! So, I'm hoping I get to see them do it several times between now and 112," says Ann Cosgrove, another Auburn fan.
And being a part of the Auburn family, with its traditions and values, is what Owen says means more than even a run at the BCS title, "It's hard to explain. It's family. Brings tears to your eyes. It's very special."
