Cadets Run From Delaware to Texas to Raise Money for Veterans

By Alabama News Network

On Sunday, a group of cadets from the University of Delaware's Army ROTC, trying to bridge the gap between civilians and the military, made a stop in Montgomery.

They are running down the east coast and through the blistering heat to Texas, hoping to raise $50,000 to donate to "Got Your 6" and "Team Red White and Blue." Both organizations raise money for veterans to help them reintegrate into civilian life after returning from tours of duty.

The team members have majors from chemical engineering to Chinese, but took time out from their summer break, saying they want to make their summers worthwhile.

To help or fight out how you can donate, visit the group's Facebook page here or Twitter page here.
