Gov. Bentley to Appoint Walker to Montgomery Co. Commission

By Alabama News Network

We now know who will fill the empty seat on the Montgomery County Commission.

Governor Robert Bentley is set to appoint Ronda McCaul Walker to the seat left open after Dimitri Polizos was elected to the State House of Representatives.

Walker worked as field representative for Congresswoman Martha Roby, and has worked on the legislative staff of Alabama Senator Richard Shelby.

She is Montgomery native - a graduate of Lee High School and Troy University.

Ronda is the President of the Troy University Alumni Chapter in Montgomery, and a member of the Montgomery Rotary Club, and the Capital City Republican Women.

She is married with four children.

Why should the governor appoint someone? Seems to me that the post should have had the benefit of a special election. Smells like home cooking politics to me...wait, it is after all...Alabama.
