Ladies Memorial Association Gathers for Confederate Memorial Day

The oldest women's organization in the South gathering for its annual Confederate Memorial Day program.

The Ladies Memorial Association has hosted the event for 148 years.

Confederate re-enactors presented a rifle salute along with traditional bagpipe and bugler music, for the program at Oakwood Cemetery.

The women's organization works to improve and clean up local cemeteries, and maintain the Confederate Monument in Oakwood Cemetery.

Members say today's memorial is a long-standing tradition, that brings them together.
