What's Right: Handy Granny

Tools

By Glenn Halbrooks

Kim Hungate is a grandmother who's returned to school -- to work.

She volunteers to do odd jobs at Goodwyn Middle School in Montgomery. Whether it's painting the hundreds of lockers, building a restroom or just stacking books, she pitches in.

That's why teachers call her "Handy Granny."

While Hungate has two grandchildren of her own at Goodwyn, she counsiders all of the students to be hers. The children have also adopted her, hugging her often when she walks the halls.

I think she is awesome! She is my husbands Aunt! She has always been a hard worker! I'm just glad someone finally realized how great she is!
