Body Found in South Alabama Parking Lot Linked to Missing Bibb Co. Man

By Alabama News Network

Greenville Police say a man's body has been found in a truck registered to a missing Bibb County man.

But police are not saying yet if foul play is involved. Investigators say they got a call at about 9:00 Saturday morning reporting a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Old Mexico Restaurant in Greenville.

Police say when they arrived, they found the body of a white man inside a Toyota Tacoma. That truck is registered to a man who disappeared from Bibb County, but police say they have not positively identified the body.  According to police, the truck was in the parking lot at least 24 hours before they found the body.

Right now, investigators  are calling this a "criminal offense investigation" and say they aren't ruling anything out, but they say there are no signs that point to homicide.

Investigators say conditions at the scene have made it difficult to identify the body or the cause of death. We'll bring you the latest as we get it.
