Lowndes County Sheriff's Department on Hunt for Person who Stabbed a Horse

By Alabama News Network

Lowndes County sheriff's deputies need your help finding the person who stabbed a horse eight times in the neck and cut off its mane. Sheriff's investigators say the attack happened at a family's small farm in mid-October and officials are not sure of the motive behind the attack.

The horse's owner says the horse is named Ruby and belongs to her 13-year-old daughter and is one of 10 horses the family owns.

The horse was taken to Greenville for treatment and spent nearly two weeks recovering under the care of a veterinarian.
