Three Killed and Two Others Injured in Covington County Crash

Three people are dead including two children in a Covington County accident that left two other people injured.

30-year-old Mathew Kenneth Douglas of Andalusia and passengers two-year-old Ryan Gibson and three-year-old Jordan Gibson both from Swansea, S.C. were killed when the 2000 Dodge that Douglas was driving left the roadway and overturned.

Two other passengers 25-year-old Jessica Gibson and seven-year-old Haley Gibson both of Swansea, S.C. were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for their injuires.

Covington County Chief Sheriff's Deputy David Anderson tells Alabama News Network  the crash happened around 10 p.m. Sunday night on Rockhole Bridge Road.

Seat belts or car seats were not in use at the time of the accident and all occupants in the vehicle were ejected from the car.

Alabama State troopers are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
