Troy's Spring Graduation

By Sarah Cantey

Graduation day is the end of one chapter and the start of another for Troy University graduates.

But the number of people who actually complete their degree in four years, may surprise you.

U.S. News and World Report cites Troy University's 4-year graduation rate at just 15 percent.

More than 700 students representing 24 states and 14 nations were a part of today's spring commencement.

Keleigh Edwards said, "A lot of majors now require more than just the four years. And a lot of that is the reasons people haven't graduated on time because their major requires so much longer. And because of classes not being offered at the same time. But they are pushing through and most people are only being detained one semester."

Madison Wilson said, "I'd say most of my friends if they aren't graduating this semester they are graduating in the summer or december."

U.S. News and World Report has Auburn's four year graduation rate at 38 percent and Alabama's at 41 percent.
