Marion Murder Victim's Family Still Waiting for Justice A Year Later

By George McDonald

From the West Alabama Newsroom--  The family of a man murdered just over a year ago in Marion is still looking for answers concerning his death and asking for help from the community.

Johnny Walter would have been 26 years old this New Year's Eve. He was one of two people killed during a triple shooting at a mobile home back in November of 2012. No arrests have been made in the case.
Walter's sister Lanshandra says their family will continue to celebrate the life of their loved one while they wait for justice concerning his death.

"That's all we ask for is justice," she said. "This community, its too small of a community for no one not to know anything, so that's all we ask for is closure."

Police Chief Carlton Hogue says the case remains open and a $1000 dollar reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. He says anyone with information call Marion Police at (334) 683-9071.
