From the West Alabama Newsroom--  A Selma man is facing an attempted murder charge after police say he opened fire at three women in a Selma neighborhood.

Police say 18-year-old Alfred Parnell was arrested Friday night. He's accused of shooting at three women and chasing them down the street.

The incident happened near Lauderdale Street and Memorial Avenue. Selma resident Henry Acoff lives in the neighborhood where it all happened.

"I think they need to put the guns away, that's what I think about it they need to put the guns away," said Acoff.

"You can't walk down the street now, cause you got to be careful, got to be careful."

Police say they found marijuana on Parnell at the time of his arrest. He's being held in the Dallas County Jail without bond.
