By George McDonald

From the West Alabama Newsroom-- City leaders in Selma are exploring the possibility of creating an entertainment district in the city.

Council President Corey Bowie says the proposed entertainment district would include part of Water Avenue and the riverfront -- which would allow people to walk from place to place while carrying alcoholic beverages.

Bowie says a public hearing has been set to get input from residents and businesses. The hearing is scheduled for Thursday, February 27th at city hall in the council chambers at six.
