West Alabama Drug Task Force seized $500,000
Drug agents have seized more than $500,000 they say dealers have made from selling imitation marijuana during the last two months.
The Tuscaloosa News reports that West Alabama Narcotics Task Force officers have confiscated more than 4,500 packets of "Spice," an illegal substance that contains chemical additives that mimic the effects of marijuana when smoked.
Tuscaloosa police Sgt. Brent Blankley said the seized Spice has a street value of $225,000.
He said task force agents also seized more than $550,000 of cash, and have charged several suspects with selling a controlled substance.
