Expectant Moms at Risk for Blood Clots

A new study finds expectant moms are at a higher risk for serious blood clots if they are admitted to the hospital during pregnancy for reasons other than delivery.  

That risk remained high in the 28 days after discharge for women who spent three or more days in the hospital. 

London researchers suggest doctors carefully consider this information when deciding which pregnant women should receive anti-clotting drugs.
