If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to do good deeds for others–listen up. A new app created by a Montgomery woman can help you do that.

It’s called “Spending Your Dash.” Montgomery native Lisa Goggans says the dash stands for the dash on your tombstone, a metaphor for your life.

The app helps you track good deeds you do and set goals to do them more often.

Goggans says she hopes the app encourages people to take time to do good for others.

“It was inspired by God. One Saturday morning, I got up and this idea was rattling around in my head. I got up and started writing everything that was going on, and it was about an app, helping people people do good for others on a daily basis,” Goggans said.

The app costs a $1.99 in the apple app store. Goggans says she’s invested about $11,000 dollars in the app to make sure it’s free of advertisements.

She says she doesn’t expect to make any money, but if she does, she’ll use it to make the app available for android devices, too.
