An Alabama law maker says he thinks the state should go back to using the electric chair to execute death row inmates.

Alabama switched from the electric chair to lethal injection as the primary form of capital punishment.. But the state has run out of one of the three drugs in the lethal injection mixture because pharmacies that supply the drugs fear lawsuits and backlash from death penalty opponents.

Alabama representative Lynn Greer is asking the state to give immunity to those pharmicutical companies or allow the state to use the electric chair instead.

Representative Greer says he plans to bring it up at the next legislative session.
