Two people have been arrested on capital murder charges after an overnight shooting in Selma. Police responded to the 500 block of Dallas Avenue just after 10:00pm last night. They found a 28-year-old man had been shot in the face.

Witnesses told police that the victim had confronted a man on his property, when another man snuck up and shot him. The victim, whose name has not yet been releaseed, later died at the hospital.

Police arrested Devontae Jiles and Kendarious Brown near the scene of the shooting. Police say they had broken into one car on the victim’s property and had tried to break into another. Jiles and Brown are being held in the Dallas County Jail with no bond.
