Former Auburn Tiger Blayne Barber ties for tenth at Barbasol Championship

Opelika, AL – Former Auburn All-American Blayne Barber shot -12 to tie for tenth at the Barbasol Championship golf tournament in Opelika, Alabama this past weekend.

Barber was  four shots back heading into Sunday’s final round at Grand National’s Lake Course. “It was great I mean, such a great week to be at home, and play in front of so many people that I love and friends and family and local support. I want to thank Barbasol and the trail for bringing the event here. It was great, they did an awesome job. I feel like I played well. I feel like I left a lot of shots out there. I didn’t putt great. I did for stretches, but just left a lot out there on the greens, but I’m grateful for a good week,” said Blayne Barber.

He has three top 10 finishes on the PGA Tour this year with a season-best tie for eight at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Barber, who graduated with a degree in Finance in 2012, has won $674, 871 this year on the PGA Tour and is ranked 132nd in the FedExCup.

A pair of Tigers, rising sophomore All-American Ben Schlottman and Web.com Tour money leader Patton Kizzire both missed the cut on Friday.
