From the West Alabama Newsroom– Four families in Marion are moving on up — and out of sub-standard housing and into brand new homes. And a non-profit organization in Perry County is helping to make it all possible.
Sowing Seeds of Hope — is a group on a mission to improve the quality of life for low income families in Perry County. The group is working with USDA Rural Development to help the families build their own homes from the ground up.
“They’ve helped families who ordinarily would not have been able to become a home owner,” said Commissioner Albert Turner.
Seventy-one year old first-time home buyer Doris Williams is just about to move into her new home.
“Its a new milestone in my life,” said Williams.
