MONTGOMERY, AL — The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers tip-off tonight in the Iron Bowl of Basketball.

Here is a preview of the big game.


• Alabama and Auburn played twice during the 2014-15 season, with the Crimson Tide sweeping the season series – both wins were by a combined 13 points. Alabama captured a 57-55 win in Tuscaloosa, followed by securing a 79-68 victory in Auburn Arena.

• It was the first time series sweep for either team since the 2011-12 campaign when the Crimson Tide achieved the feat.

• Alabama’s 79 points scored at Auburn Arena last season were the most the Tide has ever scored in the facility. In fact, it was the most points an Alabama team has scored in Auburn since winning 86-73 on Feb. 18, 1995.

• Retin Obasohan has averaged 8.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in his career vs. Auburn, including 11.0 points and 2.5 rebounds a game in the two games against the Tigers a year ago. Shannon Hale averaged 10.0 points and hit 5-of-7 (.714) three-pointers against the Tigers a year ago.
