Warmer Weather Ahead
Sunday was a much better day of weather as we saw plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures. We started the day off at 25F degrees in Montgomery, but highs were able to climb into the lower 50s. We are going to continue to see moderating temperatures for the week ahead.
For tonight, we will see another cold night, but not as cold as last night. It will be around the 30F degrees by tomorrow morning, and we will see a few clouds rolling through the sky. The clouds will continue to increase in coverage as we head through Monday. It will be warmer as well, with highs approaching the 60s for most locations across South-Central Alabama.
The weather pattern the next few days will allow our winds to shift out of the southerly direction. A low pressure system will move from the Plains into the Great Lakes and will swing a cold front through the Southeast that will bring the chance of rain late Monday, Tuesday, and into Wednesday. Tuesday will have the best rain chances this week as we will see periods of rain, but no severe weather. Rainfall totals should between one-half to one inch of rain. Wednesday the rain will come to an end and we are going to see cooler weather for the middle of the week. Highs will be in the lower 50s.
From Thursday and into the weekend, very nice weather is expected as a more zonal flow establishes itself over the country. Zonal flow means more of a west to east flow and will keep bitterly cold air, or very warm weather from settling into the area. We are expecting calmer weather as well, with more sun than clouds. Temperatures next weekend will be in the mid-60s for afternoon highs with overnight lows in the lower to upper 40s.
Have a great night and a wonderful week!.
