It’s a growing problem many people are afraid to talk about, mental health. Law enforcement came together to address the negative stigma, in hope of finding a solution.
Envision, and other organizations came together with law enforcement for the Sequential Intercept Mapping Workshop at the Mental Health Authority Building in Montgomery. They’re creating a map of a path someone can take if they have a mental illness. The map will consist of steps from first contact with law enforcement, to jail time, to being released back out to the community. Mental health in jails is an issue law enforcement deal with every day.
The summit lasts throughout Wednesday and Thursday.
