Auburn tennis’ two for the road

AUBURN, Ala. (auburntigers.com) – The No. 52 Auburn men’s tennis team is on the road this weekend for a pair of important SEC matches.

On Friday, the Tigers play No. 41 Alabama in a 5 p.m. CT match at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa. On Sunday, Auburn visits No. 24 Mississippi State for a 1 p.m. CT match at the Pitts Tennis Centre in Starkville.

“We’ve seen some positive steps during the past few matches and are building on those,” said Auburn head coach Eric Shore. “We think we can continue to build this weekend, knowing every SEC match is important.”

Auburn’s tentative lineup in singles: 1) Marko Krickovic; 2) Max Hinnisdaels; 3) Dante Saleh; 4) Conner Huertas del Pino; 5) Brandon Laubser; 6) Olle Thestrup.

In doubles, Auburn’s tentative lineup will be: 1) Krickovic/Hinnisdaels; 2) Laubser/Thestrup; 3) Huertas del Pino/Saleh.

Auburn is now 9-7 and ranked No. 52 nationally. No. 41 Alabama is 12-8 overall and 3-3 in SEC play. No. 24 Mississippi State is 12-4 overall and 4-2 in SEC action.

Auburn’s next home match comes up Sunday, April 3, hosting No. 49 Vanderbilt at 1 p.m. CT. All home matches are played at the Yarbrough Tennis Center (771 Yarbrough Farms Blvd., Auburn) and admission is free.
