City of Montgomery Commemorate National Walking Day

ASUWALKING PICOn Wednesday, April 6, Montgomery citizens will lace up their sneakers and move forward to commemorate the annual National Walking Day.

Alabama State University will host a National Walking Day event from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon, at Old Hornet Stadium. The event is free and open to the public.

ASU hopes this event will encourage students, staff, and all Montgomery Resident to take the first step towards a healthier lifestyle.

The City of Montgomery is also supporting National Walking Day.

Mayor Todd Strange will be signing a National Walking proclamation at 1:15 p.m. at City Hall. Mayor Strange shows support of the National Heart Association by emphasizing the simple steps to be heart healthy as well as raise awareness for the importance of physical activity.
