The Trojans (25-15) had a huge sixth inning and scored five runs to tie the game 6-6. Four of the runs came with two outs. Samford’s (24-16) two runs in the top of the seventh were enough to clinch the 8-6 victory. The Bulldogs jumped to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning and didn’t score again until the fourth. Lexie Higgins sent a solo-shot to right field to get the bottom of the fourth inning started.

Callie Brister tripled to right center and brought another run in before Abbie Miranda singled to center and brought Brister home. Caitlin Bice was next to bat and doubled to left field and scored Miranda and made the score 6-1.
