Arrest Made in Vaughn Lakes Deadly Shooting

thumbnail (7)The Montgomery Police Department has made an arrest in the Wednesday, April 13, shooting death of 21-year-old Anthony Rogers of Montgomery.

MPD detectives charged James Thomas, 21, of Montgomery with one count of murder. Thomas turned himself in to MPD detectives on April 14. He was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he was being held under a $250,000 bond.

MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 2600 block of Vaughn Lakes Boulevard at about 6:40 p.m. after receiving a report that a subject had been shot. There, they located Rogers, who had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

MPD’s investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation. Further investigation identified Thomas as a suspect.
