Troy announces 2016 Homecoming opponent
TROY, Ala. (troytrojans.com) – Troy’s mid-October game against Georgia State has been selected as the 2016 Homecoming contest, Troy Athletics Director Jeremy McClain announced Friday.
Homecoming is officially set for Oct. 15 as Georgia State will make its second visit to Veterans Memorial Stadium since joining the Sun Belt Conference. Full Homecoming details will be announced as plans are finalized.
Following the home opener against Austin Peay on Sept. 3, the Sound of the South’s annual Band Day will take place on Sept. 24 when Troy plays host to New Mexico State, while Troy’s contest against UMass on Nov. 5 will be Sound of the South Alumni Day and Troy Admissions Preview Day.
Troy’s traditional salute to the military will be in conjunction with the Trojans’ game against Appalachian State on Nov. 12. The Trojan seniors will be honored prior to Troy’s nationally televised game on ESPNU against Arkansas State onThursday, Nov. 17.
The Trojans wrap spring practice on Saturday with their annual T-Day Spring Game in Veterans Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and admission is free. Fans will have an opportunity to win prizes throughout the contest, while enjoying the Sound of the South, T-Roy and the Troy Cheerleaders.
