Greenville Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

IMG_0273Greenville Police are asking for the public’s help to find a suspect in an armed robbery case.

On Monday May 2, a man came into the Marathon gas station on Highway 10 around 8:30 in the afternoon. Police have released a surveillance video of the incident, hoping someone will bring information leading to an arrest. The video shows the man confronting the store clerk with a handgun and demanding money. Police say he took around $300 before leaving the store and the scene in a dark colored SUV. Greenville Police are investigating the robbery, and Chief Investigator Justin Lovvorn says crimes like these are not that common in Greenville.

“Especially being by the interstate,  and having a lot of traffic that comes through town, you’re always prone for that kind of thing to happen,” he says. “But it hasn’t been a problem we’ve had to deal with on a regular basis.”

If anyone has any information about the robbery, please call the Greenville Police Department at (334)382-7461 and ask for an investigator. Lovvorn says all calls can remain anonymous.
