The Heat is On

FOR MEMORIAL DAY: Copy and paste today’s weather into tomorrow, and that is what you can expect for much of South/Central Alabama. Of course, there could be a few isolated showers/storms possible, but many communities will remain dry with a partly sunny day. The highs will once again be in the lower and mid 90s Monday.

REST OF WEEK: Staying hot and humid for the much of the week ahead. Tuesday and Wednesday, we are forecasting mid 90s for afternoon highs, due to the upper ridge hold in place. Still looks as though the overall weather pattern will undergo a change late next week and into the weekend. By Thursday and Friday, a strong upper low will move across the western Great Lakes dragging an upper trough across the Southeast as the upper ridge is pushed well out into the Atlantic. This pattern change will increase our chances for showers and thunderstorms late this week. Expect temperatures to be lower with the better rain chance to end the week, but it will still be humid.

WEEKEND SNEAK PEEK: Scattered showers and storms remain in the forecast. With the higher rain chances, temperatures will be held down with mid to upper 80s expected. No washouts expected, but you will likely be dodging some rain drops next weekend.
