Search Warrant Leads to Drug Bust
This investigation derived from a social media” terroristic threat” that had a clear message of intent to do serious physical harm to law enforcement officers.
The original warrant was for seizure of any electronic devices used to send the message. Once inside the residence investigators observed narcotics and drug paraphernalia in plain view. Another search warrant was obtained to seize the drugs as well.
D’angelo Maurice Brooks, 21, of Alexander City was arrested and charged with: Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 1st degree, Possession of Imitation Controlled Substance, Making a Terrorist Threat and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Brooks was transported to the Tallapoosa County jail without incident.
The investigation of the illegal trafficking, distribution and possession of narcotics is ongoing.
