Hot & Humid Weekend Weather
THE THREE H’s: Hot, humid, and hazy weather is ahead for Friday and through the weekend. A good supply of sunshine today, Saturday, and Sunday with afternoon highs in the mid-90s day. With increasing moisture levels, we are going to have to mention a few isolated showers Saturday afternoon during the heat of the day, but the risk of any one spot getting wet still looks very small. Rain chances look to increase for Sunday and will continue as we head back to work Monday. These two days, widely scattered, mainly afternoon and evening showers/storms are expected. The overall upper-level ridge weakens a bit, but despite the weaker ridge, we are still forecasting partly sunny days with highs in the lower to possibly mid-90s; which on average is 5-8 degrees above normal for this time of year.
BEACHBOUND: The next several days, we are forecasting a mix of sun and clouds during the day and fair nights. There will be an isolated shower or storm possible Saturday and Sunday, but nothing too unusual for this time of year. Highs in the 80s on the immediate coast; mid 90s are likely for inland communities by the weekend. The sea water temperature early this morning at Perdido Pass at Orange Beach is 83.5 degrees.
REST OF NEXT WEEK: The upper-level ridge will continue to loosen its grip on the region, and it now looks as though showers and storms will become more numerous Tuesday on through the rest of the week. Instability values go higher, and moisture levels continue to rise, which is typical for the summer months in Alabama. Each day, look for scattered to numerous showers and storms, mostly during the afternoon and evening hours. Highs each day will be in the lower 90s, and humidity levels will be higher.
Have a Fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend.
Stay cool and hydrated!
