Town Hall Meeting Works to Improve Relationship Between Public and Police

Alabama State University hosted a citywide anti-crime town hall meeting and block party Wednesday night. The goal of the event was to create conversations between the public and law enforcement officials.

Speakers at the event included Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange, Montgomery County Sheriff Derrick Cunningham, Montgomery Police Chief Ernest Finley and ASU Police Chief James Graboys.

The event was free and open to the public. People who attended say they are happy voice their opinions and hope to see changes after the town hall meeting.

City officials says this event is the first of many aimed at improving relationships between law enforcement and the public.
