Hot and Getting Hotter
HOTTEST WEATHER YET?: The ridge to the west expands eastwards today and we are going to see lower rain chances and hotter temperatures. Expect upper 90s today, and highs close to 100 degrees Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Heat advisories will likely be needed, as the heat index “feels-like” temperatures are to likely exceed 105°. The only heat relief will come from widely isolated afternoon and evening storms, but these will be few and far between.
SUNDAY AND BEYOND: The ridge shifts a little to the west, heat levels drop slightly with highs in the mid to upper 90s with a little better coverage of scattered showers and storms during the afternoon and evening hours. This will continue into Monday and likely the remainder of next week as the summer pattern looks to continue. Highs will be generally in the mid-90s, expect humid conditions with the only hope for rain in the form of scattered passing afternoon showers or storms.
